    Date Ranges & Period Breakdowns

Every report in Fyscal needs a time window to work with, and Reports gives you two separate but related controls for that: which dates to include, and how to break those dates into columns.

    Picking a date range

A preset list covers the most common windows: This month, Last month, This quarter, Last quarter, This year, and Last year, plus a Custom option that opens a two-month calendar picker for anything else. Net Income and Net Worth both offer this same preset list, though the exact combination available can differ slightly between the two tabs.

    Breaking a report into periods

Once you've picked a range, the Columns dropdown on Net Income and Net Worth tables controls how that range gets split up: Weeks, Months, Quarters, Years, or a single combined Total. Choosing anything other than Total adds one column per period across your table, plus a final Total column summarizing the entire range.

    Non-Zero vs. Show All

This filter shows up on every report table and means the same thing everywhere: Non-Zero hides any category or account with no activity in your selected range, keeping the table focused on what actually moved. Show All lists everything regardless, useful when you specifically want to confirm a category had zero activity rather than just not appearing.

Tip: Combining a period breakdown like Months with the Non-Zero filter is one of the fastest ways to spot exactly which month a category spiked, instead of scrolling through a full year of mostly-empty columns.
