    Troubleshooting Import & Sync Issues

Most imports and syncs go smoothly, but here's what the common error messages actually mean and how to get past them.

    Bank sync issues

    • "Link failed" or a validation error: usually means the account you chose doesn't match what the bank returned, for example your Fyscal account is set to USD but the bank account is in EUR, or your account is a credit card but the bank returned a checking account.
    • "Bank connected, but N accounts were skipped": a partial success. Some of the bank's accounts matched and were attached, others didn't and were left out, with the reason shown for each.
    • "Sync failed": shown if a manual sync run hits an error. Try again in a few minutes; if it keeps failing, the connection may need to be relinked.

    File import issues

    • Rows with issues: a row with an unparseable date or amount. Go back to the column mapping or date format step, this is the most common cause of a long error list.
    • No value: a row where both the inflow and outflow columns are blank or zero. These are skipped automatically and aren't treated as errors.
    • Missing exchange rate: the transaction still imports, but at a 1:1 rate, flagged for you to double-check.

Tip: If you see a wall of row errors on a file import, it's almost always the date format or column mapping, not the file itself. Re-check those two settings before assuming the file is bad.
