    How Bank Sync Works

    ZohaibBy Zohaib

Connecting a bank isn't a one-time import, it's an ongoing relationship. Here's what actually happens after you link an account, and how often it updates.

    The first import

The moment a bank finishes linking, Fyscal pulls in a batch of recent transactions right away. These land as uncategorized in your Pending queue, just like a manual import, so you review and categorize them rather than having them silently counted in your reports.

    Keeping it up to date

    • Automatic sync: runs once a day in the background, quietly checking every connected bank for new, changed, or removed transactions.
    • Manual sync: a Sync button appears on the Transactions page once you have at least one linked bank. Clicking it checks right away instead of waiting for the daily run, and tells you either "Imported X new transactions" or "All caught up."

What you'll see on the Accounts page

A linked account shows an "Auto-Sync Enabled" badge along with a relative "last updated" timestamp, so you can tell at a glance how fresh its data is. An eligible account that hasn't been linked yet shows "Sync Not Connected" with an "Enable Auto Sync" link to start the process.

Tip: There's no instant, real-time push from your bank, updates land at most once a day unless you click Sync yourself. If you just made a purchase and want to see it immediately, a manual sync is the way to check.
