    Understanding Your Cashflow

    ZohaibBy Zohaib

The Cashflow page answers a different question than your budget or your reports do: not just 'what happened,' but 'where is my cash balance actually headed.' It combines your real balance history with a forward-looking forecast on a single chart.

    What you're looking at

The main chart plots your cash balance over time as a solid line for everything that already happened, and a dashed line for what's projected to happen next, based on your recurring income and bills.

    Choosing a granularity

    • D (Daily): the finest view, good for spotting exactly which day a balance dipped.
    • M (Monthly): the default, a clean month-by-month view of your balance trend.
    • Q (Quarterly): zoomed out to spot seasonal patterns across a year or two.
    • Y (Yearly): the widest view, for a long-term picture spanning several years.

    The Today marker

A dashed vertical line with a badge marks exactly where "today" falls on the chart, showing your current balance. Everything to its left is real history, everything to its right is forecast, so you never confuse the two.

    Filtering by account or currency

You can narrow the chart to a single account instead of your combined cash position, filter by Bank vs. Cash accounts, or switch which currency the amounts are shown in.
