    Understanding the Budget Table

    ZohaibBy Zohaib

The Budget page is a 12-month grid that puts what you planned to spend right next to what you actually spent, category by category, so you don't have to hold both numbers in your head or dig through a spreadsheet to compare them.

How the table is laid out

Rows are your categories, split into two collapsible groups, Income and Expenses, each with its own subtotal row at the bottom. Columns are a rolling 12-month window, with the current month highlighted so it's easy to find at a glance.

    Reading a cell

Each cell shows what percentage of that category's budget was actually spent (or earned) in that month. Hover any cell for a tooltip with the exact actual amount, the budgeted amount, and a link to view the transactions behind it. Click the cell itself to open a full breakdown of that entire month across every category.

    Choosing your date range

By default the table starts at the current month and runs 12 months forward, but the date range picker lets you move that window backward or forward, covering roughly 20 years in either direction, so you can review a past year or plan ahead for a future one.

Tip: Use the Categories filter to switch between "Show All" and "Non-Zero" so the table only shows categories that actually have a budget or activity, instead of every category you've ever created.
