    Matching & Reconciling Transfers

    ZohaibBy Zohaib

Moving money between two of your own accounts should show up once as a transfer, not twice as an unrelated expense and an unrelated income, and Fyscal helps you reconcile that so your reports stay accurate.

    Why this matters

If a transfer between your checking and savings accounts gets counted as both an expense and separate income, your Net Income and spending totals get inflated for no real reason, the money never actually left your household. Matching collapses that pair into a single transfer.

    Suggested matches

When two uncategorized transactions look like opposite sides of the same transfer, similar dates, opposite amounts, different accounts, Fyscal suggests a match automatically so you don't have to go looking for it.

    Match vs. Accept

    • Match: links a real synced transaction to a system-generated placeholder leg, replacing the placeholder. This is common right after you enter a manual transfer that later also shows up via bank sync.
    • Accept: links two real transactions together as a single transfer, when both sides already exist as their own separate entries.

    Finding a match manually

If Fyscal doesn't suggest a match, use Find Match to search for the corresponding transaction yourself, useful if the dates are further apart than the automatic matching expects.

Tip: Once matched, a transfer shows as one line with a From account and To account, instead of two separate entries competing for attention in your list.
